My little brother + Lightroom 4

Ever sense I’ve gotten the Lightroom 4 program, I haven’t really played much with the photos I’ve taken in the past. The portraits I took of my brother are still my favorite so far, so I decided to take a few that I like a little better than others, they are one’s you’ve probably seen before, but I really wanted certain colors to come out in them. So today I just really wanted to show you how amazing Lightroom 4 can be. Sorry for the repeats, lol, I just thought they looked better than the originals 🙂

Our Last Days of Rain

Ok guys I need your help. I don’t know if any of you know how to help me, but I’m no longer getting emails saying when you guys are posting your blogs! So forgive me for not visiting your sites and commenting, I’m just not getting any emails notifying me. So While I’m trying to figure it out, know that I send my love and you’ll see my comments again soon. Sorry again!

I know it’s already May, but here in Oregon, we still get rainy, cold days. I have a hard time staying happy up here in the gloom. I’ve asked around and a lot of people seem to have the same problem, sadly most of them have been here for many many years and still haven’t gotten used to it! I just have to appreciate the green nature that comes with the rain and hopefully it won’t be so hard to be around in a few more years HAHA!

I took these while it was still pouring on me and thought it would be fun to get a few shots that look a little colder. I’m hoping we are on our last days of rain, but we might still have some for another month 😛

My First Bird

“Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door, With such name as ‘Nevermore.'”

I’m very excited that this is my very first bird photo. Birds don’t come anywhere near me and I don’t spend a lot of time trying to find them. I’m usually so distracted with plants and landscape shots that I miss the birds for some reason HAHA! I was so surprised when my buddy Fluff (aka Austin) pointed him out and he wasn’t that far from us.

I’m not going to lie, I don’t much care for birds (Well, with the exception of ducks! I love ducks lol). They are loud and sometimes their beady eyes scare me, I must have grown up watching The Birds, way too much when I was little lol! I don’t even know what kind of bird he is ( I think he’s a he?..) but his orange stomach and black feathers were just so beautiful! I was excited to even be able to get a good shot of him. He’s kind of hidden, but when I tried to get closer he flew away, so this is what I got.

Enjoy 🙂

Very Inspiring Blogger Award!!!

Image

I have become very close to my fellow blogger Leanne Cole, she is just an incredible photographer and writer and I look up to her so much! I was so pleased to see that I was nominated by her, I just couldn’t believe that she found me worthy HAHA! Thank you so much Leanne! You are what I strive to be as a photographer 😀 Thank you!!

The rules are to thank the person who nominated you, list 7 random things about yourself and then list 7 people you’d like to Nominate. So here we go …

1. I drink a whole pot of coffee within a few hours, sometimes it only takes an hour lol!

2. I have my tablet and smart phone glued to my side so I can talk to my hubby who is also glued to his computer screen during our daytime lol!

3. I enjoy hiking but I hate nature lol

4. Well, I don’t so much hate nature as I do bugs… yes, I despise insects lol

5. I don’t like talking about myself so these answers are lame lol!

6. I hate to admit that I’ve become obsessed with Minecraft, I’m a nerd 😛

7. I’ve recently become obsessed with the Hunger Games as well! YAY!

Here are my 7 Nominated bloggers that inspire me in no particular order:

Even though we don’t chat all the time, their blogs are just fun and creative and they inspire me when it comes to making my blog as exciting and fun as theirs 🙂

The Local Treasure I Found

While going to a few places with my mom one day, we stumbled upon a local coffee place! I had no idea it even existed and as soon as I walked in, I didn’t want to leave. The girl at the front counter had a big smile and I felt like I’d just walked into a place I’d been a million times. We talked about coffee and it was just a very comfortable place. The warm colors on the walls and the smell of that amazing coffee aroma just took me over and I had to take pictures. I was so happy I had brought my camera that day 🙂

They had coffee, sandwiches, and even WINE….wine… I was definitely at home there lol! I asked to talk pictures and I’m glad I did start taking them at that moment, because it started getting really busy. So I was able to take a few shots of it before everyone started filing in.

Just a reminder for everyone, please try and stay local. Support these small businesses, the family owned, anything that will help keep your town, or even your city, personal. I feel like these big businesses come in and there’s not the same connection you get if you go to a local store with people who might want your area to be just that much closer. So I challenge you all to take some time and explore the local places in your area, you might be surprised in what you find 🙂

Sun, oh how you tease…

We were teased. Last weekend was warm and amazing! Sun, cool clouds and I was just in awe of how amazing Oregon looks when everything is green and bright 🙂 I feel like we don’t get enough of that up here. I’m writing this while it’s raining, hailing and windy outside lol! I’m really excited about the photos I took last weekend, they are kind of random, but some of my favorites are in this bunch. I went on a walk with Fluffy aka Austin, but I prefer Fluff… poor kid lol! We walked down to our river that’s literally 2 minutes from my house! At the moment, the water is a little muddy from the rains and everything so I didn’t take any of the water much, but on our walk there, I stumbled upon some interesting shots 🙂
