We don’t have too many clear night skies this time of year in the Pacific Northwest, and when we do I tend to forget to test out my open shutter. I’ve never done it in the night sky and I was really excited to see as many stars as I did out my window one night.
I still have to learn how to set my camera for longer than 30 seconds. I don’t know how to, but the 30 seconds it stayed open I got some pretty amazing shots.
The first one is definitely my favorite, it was taken out my bedroom window.
(This is my old watermark, I’m still working on a new one haha)
This was taken in my backyard
My amazing husband William took me to a winery for Valentines day! I know, he’s a keeper 🙂 We haven’t been to one in a while and I was really excited because we’ve never been to this one, but I heard it was beautiful. Luckily, it was a clear sunny day, very rare for the kind of weather we’ve been having up here, I actually wore a dress! HAHA!
Driving up there was really amazing, it sits on a hill and over looks the valleys around it. I’ve been thinking about getting a job in a winery for a while, I hope to start working at one sometime soon. I know it sounds odd, but I’m very sensitive to smells, I smell things some other people can’t and I also can taste ingredients people don’t notice. So I thought a career in a winery would be good for me 🙂 We’ll see, I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
My whole life my Uncle Rob has called me “Sweet cheeks” because I have dimples. So when I found out what this winery was called it made me laugh, “Well now I have to go!” HAHA!
I changed my watermark once again, made it a little smaller and changed the font, still not sure, but it’s in the right direction I think 🙂 What do you think?
Check out their website!
Wouldn’t mind seeing these views everyday, especially with a glass of wine 😉
We had live music playing while we sat there drinking wine and eating cheese! Best day ever! Thank you William 🙂
These are the last couple of shots that turned out the way I wanted them too. I’m really sad because all the gorilla and other monkey shots really didn’t look that good. They turned out really blurry and it was hard to soften the grain.
Before we left the zoo we went back to see the giraffes because they were the most fun to be around 🙂
I also developed a new watermark, what do you think? Is it too large?
The little ones were my favorite 😀
These are my Cheyenne Mountain Zoo shots in order of animals I saw. There are waaaaaayyyy too many pictures, and I’ve been trying to limit them, but these animals have so much personality, it’s been hard cutting them back.
This was really interesting! We entered a room full of all different kinds of birds! My first thought was, ok don’t stand directly under them, for fear of droppings lol! Then, once I was in the room a while, they just wouldn’t stop flying around! I wish I would have gotten a better shot of them flying around, it was hard to capture that, but the colors were amazing 🙂
My beautiful sister-in-law Hailey 😀
I loved that we could touch them and let them sit on our fingers 🙂
This guy cracked me up! I loved his big ears 🙂
Still more to come!!
I hope you all aren’t getting bored of my Cheyenne Mountain Zoo shots. There are just so many and I do have a hard time only posting a few. I’m just about done editing them, these aren’t how I wished they would turn out. The bear shots I had hoped would look better, but with them being behind glass it was hard to get past the glare.
This shot is awful with the scratched up glass, but I so loved seeing him soaking in the water haha!
On the right is William’s sister Hailey, the left is her husband Eric and in the middle is Eric’s brother-in-law Griff 🙂
This Zoo was massive! We had gone there back in October, so the beautiful trees were all changing and the leaves were on the ground.
These are all the shots I took in order, there will be more to come lol!
These peacocks were wandering the Zoo grounds
These darn cougars kept moving around and this was the only good shot I got haha!
There at the Zoo you could pay to ride down the mountain in one of these! Looked scary to me lol!
While William and I were visiting Colorado Springs with family, we, as you know, went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was absolutely amazing, the most beautiful Zoo I’d ever seen! Unfortunately, there were a lot of bars on their cases to try to get by with the focus of my camera. Frank (my Canon) was going crazy with his focus HAHA! I tried to do it manually for a while, but it turned out to be a lot faster to set it to auto and take A LOT of pictures. I can’t believe how many more pictures I still have to go through. These are the shots I took in order of the animals we saw. They will be random, but some of them turned out well 🙂
This guy was my favorite to photograph 🙂
I wish I was able to get better photos of these monkeys, but the bars were a problem
Most of the lions were hiding (as they always seen to do) so I was very excited to find this lion posing and waiting for her picture to be taken 😀
Lots more to come!!
