“Crater Lake has long attracted the wonder and admiration of people all over the world. Its depth of 1,943 feet (592 meters) makes it the deepest lake in the United States, and the ninth deepest in the world. Its fresh water is some of the clearest found anywhere in the world. The interaction of people with this place is traceable at least as far back as the eruption of Mount Mazama. Founded May 22, 1902, Crater Lake National Park seeks to preserve these natural and cultural resources.”

William and I had traveled to this lake a few years ago during the month of August. It was nice and warm and easy to drive around and see all the different trails and sights. We decided to take another trip so Frank (my Canon) could experience it as well 🙂 It’s September right? Well, a few miles behind our location we noticed patches of snow. Yes, snow. Thank goodness we were dressed for rain, the clothes were also warm enough for the snow, but I really wasn’t expecting it haha!
As you can see it was absolutely gorgeous! Being only my second time seeing it I really just couldn’t believe it’s beauty. Thank goodness for my wide angle lens! I was able to capture it from end to end! Because of the freak snow storm all the other trails and driving points were closed, that was a real bummer. So sadly, we weren’t there long, just long enough to capture a few shots in the same location. I’m excited to share them with you 🙂
I have so much more to show you all and I will be posting them soon 🙂
STUNNING! STUNNING! STUNNING! I’m just getting back to stopping by to visit again…can you tell me more about Frank? I’m in love with him.

Thank you so much for the amazing compliment 😀 I’ve been away from landscape photography for way too long and I can’t wait to get back into it!
