This tree has kind of spooked me out for years and years. I tried to capture this tree back when all I was working with was a film Canon camera, and I was never able to capture it the way I wanted. For one, this forest is really hard to take pictures in, it’s crowded with bushes, trees and weeds and I’ve never seen a pretty enough area. Also, if you wait until the “golden hours” you know the last hour or so before the sunsets, it’s completely dark and not pretty as all. So, while walking down this trail to see the tree, it was in the middle of the day, normally this is an awful time to take pictures, but it just so happen to work with the forest on this day! Still not my best work, but I think it’s better than any other shot I’ve ever taken of it.
I’ve been trying to add new pictures to CafePress and using the older ones for different products. Looks like magnets might be more popular at the moment, so I added 15 new pictures to magnets and postcards!
Yes, it has been a while sense my last “Crazy Cat Lady” post. After losing my oldest kitty, George, it was hard to post another one. It still is hard, there are days where it feels like I lost him yesterday, that pain is still very raw. William and I are hoping to get Stevie, our 5 year old kitty, a friend soon 🙂 Hopefully within this next year getting another little kitty. Stevie is always very playful and I can tell he misses George very much sometimes.
We had a sunny day this week! Up here in the Pacific Northwest, the sun likes to hide this time of year haha! When it eventually comes out you take as much of it in as you can! I took Stevie outside with me and got some cute little shots of him. So, no landscape shots today, instead you get to see our kitty Stevie! HAHA! Enjoy!
Caught him talking to me HAHA
He stretches like this before walking up to anyone lol!
While sitting outside, I pointed to the chair on our porch telling William this is where George would be. Curled up in the sun on his favorite chair.

I’m finally catching up with my fellow bloggers posts from the last couple of weeks. I’ve noticed a lot of people posting their goals for this year, where they want to go, what they want to see, eat, and who they hope to meet. I’ve always been awful at making these goals, I always feel let down when they don’t work out, and yes, most of the time it’s because I can be lazy haha! This year is going to different, I really want to make goals and try to make them work out. I want to be proud of myself when I accomplish them and make others proud as well 🙂
As you can see, my last post was revisiting a local waterfall. I’m enjoying going back to past locations and trying to look at them differently. What can I do to make this seem as big as it looks in my mind? Last year I posted Covered bridges remind me of Sleepy Hollow and didn’t take many shots of it at all! This bridge has so many sides and angles, and I wanted to give you a better look 🙂
I woke up and went straight to it, the sun was coming out of the fog that had settled the night before and I thought they turned out beautifully 🙂
My first goal is, to revisit my past picture locations and try to make them better. Try to make them tell more of a story than I was able to tell before. Here’s a different look!
My husband and I went to Moon Falls this time last year, but at that time I didn’t have my wide angle lens! I was going to go back this last summer to capture it, but life got a little busy and I ended up forgetting about it. Yesterday I woke up and told William, “We need to go to Moon Falls, I’ve been putting it off for way too long!” HAHA! It was a cloudy day and by the time we left it had started raining, but the pictures turned out pretty anyways. Not as beautiful as the last time I was there, but still happy to see it through my wide angle lens 🙂
So the beginning new year has been a scattered one for me. I haven’t been able to go through your blogs or post my own or even be able to take any pictures! 2014 has given me plenty of distractions and I love what all I’m getting done, but I’m sad about not focusing on WordPress as much as I have been.
My amazing husband let me take a few years off work to focus on my photography! I know, he’s amazing lol, but at this point it is important that I start looking for work again, so this last month or so I’ve been focusing on applying for work and doing a lot less picture taking. Actually, I don’t think I’ve taken any pictures of the new 2014, shocking! I’m hoping to go out to this covered bridge that was recently constructed in our little town a few years ago. I’m pretty sure I’ve shared it with you before, but the weather has been dark and foggy, so I’m hoping for some nice foggy shots tonight 🙂
Here is a shot I took during our snowy days, I just love how it turned out, and it also makes me thankful that we don’t have that snow anymore lol! I’ll be posting pictures soon! Thank you all for not giving up on me! HAHA
I hope you all had a fun and safe New Years. This last year was a hard one on us. We lost my 12 year old cat, George, unexpectedly and then right before Christmas we lost a family friend. 2013 had so many downs that it was hard for us to find the good times. With all the heart ache and frustrations, I was thankful to have family and of course, my amazing husband William next to me during it all.
I’m hoping to start up some goals and actually complete them this year. I do love the beginning of new years, that clean slate feeling, the way you think you can do anything and it’s going to happen this time! HAHA! Lots of thoughts run through my mind, I just hope to accomplish some of them 🙂
These were taken New Year’s Eve around our neighborhood! My last pictures of 2013
